OUR SERVICES
The services provided by Arc fall into three general categories:
(1) Arc assists African businesses and governments with the implementation of industrial and infrastructure projects. This assistance includes the structuring and sourcing of international financing, securing foreign partners, securing suppliers and providing technical and managerial expertise. Because Arc works closely with various international financial institutions and other financiers, it is able to assist African enterprises with the financing of projects that are feasible and creditworthy. In this connection, Arc works with multilateral development banks such as the World Bank Group (including the International Finance Corporation, the International Development Association and the Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency) and the African Development Bank; international financial institutions and development agencies such as the Export-Import Bank of the United States, the Overseas Private Investment Corporation and the European Investment Bank; and various private sources of capital including investment banks, private equity and venture capital funds, sovereign wealth funds and high net worth individuals.
(2) Arc helps American and European companies identify, evaluate, develop and finance investment opportunities in Africa. Arc has extensive connections in Africa with key government, business and banking interests. It is therefore able to identify opportunities for foreign investment on a timely basis, and to work effectively and efficiently with local authorities and local businesses to negotiate and implement investment agreements.
For American and European companies that want to establish a subsidiary or joint venture in Africa, Arc offers a “one stop shopping service” whereby its lawyers will draft and register the articles of association and bylaws for a local company to be wholly or partly owned by the American or European company; secure and register a business premises; register the company name; open the requisite bank accounts; register the company with the proper authorities; and take all other measures necessary to satisfy the legal and regulatory requirements of the country concerned.
(3) Arc helps American and European companies find customers for their products and services in Africa. In this connection, Arc works directly with the US Commercial Service in each of the countries where Arc does business; with local chambers of commerce and local businesses in each of those countries; with the commercial section of African embassies in the United States and Switzerland; and with the World Trade Organization (“WTO”) in Geneva.
